Agnes Irwin School: Campus-Wide Educational Technology

Agnes Irwin School dining hall with projector screen lowered

Project Requirements

The Agnes Irwin School, an all-girls independent school in Bryn Mawr, PA, was looking to upgrade its campus with modern educational technology. The initiative focused on supporting hybrid learning, improving communication, and streamlining the overall technology experience. Haverford Systems partnered with the school to provide end-to-end A/V integration that would align with these objectives.
With over 60 classrooms needing video conferencing capabilities, Agnes Irwin required a standardized, scalable solution. The system would need to be simple to operate for both teachers and students. Beyond instructional spaces, the school also needed upgrades for its event spaces, including the West Theatre and lower school gymnasium, and a campus-wide communication system. The goal was to create a consistent, plug-and-play experience that simplified tech use and supported an engaging learning environment.

Solution

  • Classroom Video Conferencing: Bring-your-own-device (BYOD) video conferencing systems were installed in over 60 classrooms to allow teachers and students to easily plug into the audio and video. This standardized setup includes PTZOptics cameras, wireless speakerphones, and microphones.
  • Projectors: Large-format projection systems were installed in both the West Theatre and the lower school gymnasium for theatre productions and assemblies. Approximately 20 classrooms received short-throw projectors, providing clear, glare-free visuals in compact classroom settings.
  • Mass Communication: Informacast integrates into the public address system to enable centralized, campus-wide announcements and emergency notifications.

Result

From everyday instruction to school-wide events, the new A/V systems at Agnes Irwin improved how faculty and students interact with technology. The BYOD video conferencing setup offered an easy way to connect personal devices, supporting both in-person and remote learning needs. Standardized classroom systems created a consistent experience across learning spaces, while large-format projection brought new capabilities to event spaces. The integrated mass communication system strengthened campus-wide messaging and safety. Through strategic A/V integration, the Agnes Irwin School benefits from an environment designed for interactive, tech-enabled learning.
